Why #Zayn Left #OneDirection
Want to know why #ZaynMalik made the brave decision to leave the biggest boy band on the planet – One Direction? Just watch Ed Sheeran & Rudimental’s “Bloodstream” video. The video was released on Monday the 23rd March as the YTMA ( You Tube Music Awards) official video.
As millions of girls, and boys, mourn the loss of the ‘quiet one’ from One Direction the rest of us can only wonder what the problem is? He’s twenty two – with an estimated million in the bank for every year on the planet – Why the sadness? My money says he will re-emerge as an artist in his own right; may it be painting, acting or a solo career.
Like all adoration, it’s compulsive and addictive. After a few months R & R, Zayn will find nipping to Tesco just as boring as the rest of us do.
Zayn is also the smart one. For if ever the time is right to leave a band it must be when the band are at the top of their game. Never before has the expression ‘Been There Done That,’ ever been more relevant. It must be said that if Zayn was a leading star in any other industry, a career progression to keep him on board would have been mapped out for him from the beginning. I do hope his record company are leaving him with a big thick portfolio of opportunities for his talent, and not just forwarding fan mail by the truck load.
Back to the amazing video from #Ed Sheeran & Rudimental. #Bloodstream.
The video stars the equally talented Ray Liotta, playing an ageing musician whose rock star lifestyle is finally taking its toll. It’s a ‘Been there done that ‘movie beautifully crafted and is a piece of art in its own right. You only have to go to certain bars in Hollywood to find them filled with successful artists who feel they are ‘has been’s’. This video depicts that particular story perfectly.
The ‘Bloodstream’ track was produced by Rick Rubin and written by Sheeran, Rudimental, and Johnny McDaid and lovely Gary Lightbody of Snow Patrol ( From my home town Bangor N Ireland – #justsayin)
Sheeran’s long-time friend Emil Nava directed or should I say perfected
Yes Zayn – we understand why you left. If ever there was a video which explains a decision – it must be this one. The single is out on Sunday on itunes. The YTMA can be found on You Tube.
